photogenX alum Melanie Hamman Speaks about Trafficking at the World Cup in South Africa on ESPN

by RTV on June 8, 2010

Here’s an important interview that highlights the challenges law enforcement officials face as they seek to pursue justice for victims of trafficking.  There is no official anti-trafficking law in place in South Africa to enable officials to aggressively counter trafficking syndicates (as was the case at the World Cup in Germany in 2006).

Melanie Hamman is a co-author of Sex+Money: A Global Search for Human Worth, which you can purchase here.  She works as a photo journalist and an anti-trafficking advocate in South Africa.
