James Popoff

Do we ever love burnt thicket theatre: their talent, their belief, their commitment to creativity, and simply because they are wonderful people.  And so it’s probably no surprise how excited we are to have James Popoff at our event to present a workshop on April 16.  Story can powerfully transform our thinking, our communities, our lives.  And telling stories is what burnt thicket theatre does.

James Popoff

James is the founding artistic director of burnt thicket theatre which aims to enliven [restore life to] audiences through original performance.  burnt thicket theatre presented She Has A Name in partnership with Raise Their Voice for a critically acclaimed sold-out World Premiere.  James recently completed a Western Canadian tour of Hockey Dad: A Play in Three Periods (co-created with
Stephen Waldschmidt). Other creation credits include Peddling Parables, Sackcloth, and award winning Inheritance. James holds a MFA from the University of Calgary where he studied Solo Performance Creation.
